Robert L. Brockmeyer

Mr. Brockmeyer has over 42 years working with machinery and more than 22 years with the Division of Safety & Hygiene serving in several capacities, such as Industrial Consultant, Industrial Consultant Supervisor, Regional Supervisor and Statewide Machine and Control of Hazardous Energy Coordinator.

Mr. Brockmeyer has developed many power press classes including the one used by the Division of Safety & Hygiene's OCOSH Training Center. He has been instrumental in developing power press programs that separate and define the differences in power presses for proper application of State and Federal (OSHA) standards.

Mr. Brockmeyer has trained (OSHA) field people on mechanical power press and lockout/tagout. He has also served as Advisor for the State Code Committee and served on OSHA Committee for Codes in 1971.

Mr. Brockmeyer worked with the State of Ohio BWC from 1975 till 1998. While there he was a Field Consultant and investigated accidents and surveyed all types of facilities including the largest to the smallest companies. He did training of all types for companies in and out of the state of Ohio.

He held training classes on welding, engineering and structural engineering for The Ohio State University and for Columbus State University.

He trained OSHA consultants on Lockout/Tagout, Machine Guarding and Welding.

He was the Area Supervisor for 15 of the 22 years while with the BWC. He also was a Safety Consultant for BWC state wide.

He has written several articles for the Monitor and Trade papers. He was promoted to Assistant to the Superintendent of the Division of Safety & Hygiene and assigned all Machine Guarding and Hazard state wide for specializing with companies for the last three (3) years with the State of Ohio.

He was an expert witness in court for Machine Guarding, Lockout/Tagout and Power Press many times both in the state and out of state.

He has had training for Foundry, Plastic Extrusion and Crane training through the OSHA Institute. He is also a Certified Crane Inspector.

Mr. Brockmeyer has also received facilitator training and has conducted facilitator training in many types of classes for the State of Ohio and many companies.
