Mr. Gleghorn is a Certified Safety Professional, by examination, with over 29 years of Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Workers' Compensation and Risk Management experience. He is a graduate of the University of Akron with a B.S. Degree in Industrial Management and an A.A. Degree in Pre-Engineering. He is a Journeyman Industrial Electrician and holds a Third Class Stationary Engineers License from the State of Ohio.He is certified by OSHA and the Ohio Construction Industry Examining Board to teach Ultraviolet Radiation Exposure Safety. He has been trained by ILCI (International Loss Control Institute) as a Certified Safety Auditor.
He had over 32 years experience with the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and its subsidiaries in various skilled and management positions, including Corporate Manager of Industrial Hygiene and Safety for Goodyear Aerospace, retiring in 1989. He was Manager of Industrial Health with B.F. Goodrich Geon Vinyl Division from 1989 until 1993.
He is a Professional Member of the Management and Construction Sections, of the American Society of Safety Engineers and a full Member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association, where he was Chair of the Oversight Committee of the Local Sections Council. He has served as President of the Lansing and McKinley Chapters of the American Society of Safety Engineers, the Northeastern Ohio Section of the American Industrial Hygiene Association, the Summit County Safety Council, The Akron Council of Engineering and Societies (ACESS) and the Michigan Safety Conference. He is also listed in Who's Who in the Environmental Industry, 1992.
Mr. Gleghorn was the 1988 Summit County Safety Citizen of the year and All Ohio Safety Professional of the Year for 1990. He received the ACESS Award in 1995. He was appointed by the Governor of Michigan to the Board of Boiler Rules and the Michigan Safety and Review Commission. He was also a Member of the Governor's Task Force of Safety, helping to forge the Michigan OSHA Act. He was a member of the Michigan Manufacturers Association Safety Committee. He is a speaker and writer, writing articles the last six years for the "Patterns for Progress" Training guide for the Bureau of Workers' Compensation.
