Delwyn R. Ritter, P.E.

Mr. Ritter is a Professional Engineer by examination. He has 34 years of experience in all phases of Safety Management and Consulting, 23 of which were with the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. He retired in 1982 as Manager of Safety for the Firestone Diversified Products Group where he had responsibility for auditing and safety performance at 46 separate locations.

He is presently the Executive Director of the Summit County Safety Council. Mr. Ritter is a Professional Member of the American Society of Safety Engineers. He is a member and past President of Ohio Safety Engineers, All Ohio Council of the American Society of Safety Engineers (he is a founding Member of the Executive Board), McKinley Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers and the Rubber and Plastics Section of the National Safety Council. He is past Chairman of the Rubber and Plastics Section of the National Safety Council.

He is a speaker and writer. He wrote the Firestone Safety Manual and Guidelines, developed Firestone's Safety Audit Program and Safety Accountability Program, tying Safety performance to merit increases.

Mr. Ritter was All Ohio Safety Professional of the Year in 1981, Summit County Safety Citizen of the Year in 1989, elected to the 1990 edition of "Who's Who in Safety" and honored by the Ohio Senate for Outstanding Safety Service to Ohio in 1990.
